Osama Ashour

Osama Ashour is an educator with an MFA in Acting from the University of Alabama. While attaining UA he taught a number of undergraduate classes including Intro to Theatre, Acting I, Dialects, and Comedy & Film. He has worked as a substitute teacher in Fairfax County for over two years, and served as an Instructional Assistant for Category B Special Education at Poe Middle School. He has worked as a Teaching Artist for Signature Theatre, Moonlight Studios, and the Texas Shakespeare Festival. He has worked as a freelance tutor for two years, working with students on subjects ranging from Middle Grade Math, English, and History. He also works with ESL students and students with special needs. His primary focus is finding where students are in their education journey and developing a curriculum that encourages manageable growth. Osama's goal is focused more on figuring out how students process information, and fostering a love for learning within them. It is his philosophy that people have an innate desire to learn, and if a student is struggling in school, that is not a failure in the student, but a failure of the education system.
