Kristin Blackstone

Kristin has been teaching in MD and VA public schools for a total of 10 years. She has worked as a teacher in K-2nd grade, a reading Specialist, and English as a Second Language Teacher. She has a B.S in Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degree from King's College in Curriculum and Instruction and English as a Second Language. She also has credits in Administration from Capella University. She is currently a full time Kindergarten Teacher for Prince William County Schools. She has experience teaching both in person and a full year of virtual. She loves both! Her favorite part of virtual teaching is being able to schedule time for one-on-one sessions with students that needed the extra time and support. Her favorite part of in-person teaching is being able to use manipulatives, and provide social experiences to the students. She has a 6-year-old son on the spectrum, and an 11 year-old daughter with ADD. She says her children have provided her with an education that college could not prepare her for. She was forced to learn new methods of teaching and parenting daily.
