Tina Nguyen

Tina is an undergraduate student at George Mason University who is pursuing Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics. Her most recent teaching experience is working at the Vietnamese Youth Education Association (VYEA) where she aided teachers with attendance and lesson plans and instructed students ages 8-9 with speaking, reading, and writing Vietnamese. As a student herself, she has the patience to improve students’ understanding in K-12 math and physics because she knows the struggles and frustrations of studying. She is attentive to students’ approaches to problems from their assignments which allows her to explain complex concepts in a manner that caters to their logic. As a tutor, she hopes to help build academic confidence and self-sufficiency in students by finding their individualized strategies to study efficiently. She also encourages students to have an interest and appreciation for math. However, her primary aim is to create a strong mathematical foundation in students so they can apply it in their future.
